Release Date: October 2023
Here you will find the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes for Passenger App.
To ensure you have the best experience using our product, we recommend updating to the latest version available.
Note: The features available to you will depend on the configuration and the current version of the Passenger App you're using.
What's New
New Sign In Options
To give your users more flexibility when signing into your passenger app, there are now multiple different methods to sign in.
Phone Sign In
When users sign into your passenger app, they can simply enter their mobile number on the landing screen. The system will then check if the number is already in the database and if it has been validated. If the number has not been validated yet, the user will be prompted to sign in via email and password. On the other hand, if the number is not yet in the system, the user will be prompted to register an account using the provided phone number.
Social Sign In
Your passengers can now easily sign into your app using their Google, Facebook, or Apple accounts. If the user logs in successfully, they are prompted to enter their mobile number if they don't already have an account. If their social media account is already linked to a phone number, this field is pre-populated for them.
Note: Please contact Platform Delivery to enable this feature at platform.delivery@autocab.com.
New Password Reset Flow
When resetting their passwords, users will encounter a new flow in which they receive an email containing a one-time use code that the user must enter into the app to allow them to reset their password.
New Account Register Flow
We have implemented some updates to the registration process in your application to enhance security and protect your customers' accounts from automated abuse.
Captcha
When a new user creates an account and enters their phone number on the login screen, they will be prompted to complete a simple challenge called Captcha. The purpose of this feature is to determine whether the user is a human or not, and it helps to prevent possible automated malicious attacks. The Captcha challenge is designed to be easy for a human to complete, but difficult for computers. Once the user passes the Captcha challenge, a code will be sent to their mobile number, which they will need to enter in order to proceed.
Pre-Existing Details
If a user enters a phone number and an email address that is already registered in the system, they will receive a notification that the email is already in use. In this case, they will be prompted to enter their password. If the login is successful, the user's profile will be updated to include the new phone number. If the login is unsuccessful, the user will have the option to reset their password or return to the login screen.
Enhanced Tracking
We are excited to introduce enhanced tracking functionality within the Passenger App. With this improvement, passengers can now track their driver as they complete a nearby job before heading to their pickup location, resulting in a more accurate Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). This feature not only provides peace of mind to your customers by confirming driver allocation but also significantly improves their overall experience.
The ETA calculation considers the route duration from the current taxi location to the prior job destination, followed by the next job's pickup point. Additional time is factored in for the current passenger's drop-off.
In-App Marketing Communications
On a user's profile screen, there is a new togglable setting to enable or disable receiving in-app marketing communications.
Improvements
Awaiting Driver Allocation
When a passenger requests an ASAP booking, we have introduced a new state between booking confirmation and vehicle dispatch. In this stage, drivers are offered the job and the passengers await their response to accept or reject it. This enhances the passenger experience by offering them transparency of the estimated time of arrival while they await driver allocation. This improvement is designed with the primary goal of reducing booking cancellations and, in turn, minimising the need for passengers to reach out to the operator for information.
For details on how to enable this for your passenger app please see the How Do I Configure the 'Awaiting Driver Allocation' State For My Passenger App article in our help centre.
User Token Expiry
When a user's sign-in token expires, upon signing in, the app recommends that the user signs in with that method again.
In-App Rating
To gather reviews for the Play Store, upon completing their first booking, the app prompts the user for a rating.
User Page Verification
When a user modifies their profile details, they will now have to verify their account before the change is actioned. There are multiple verification options.
Adding Judo Card Wallet
We have introduced an improvement so that when a user adds a Judo Card to their wallet, the card holder's name is correctly sent to the app backend.
Translations and Locale
Added support for Finnish (fi-FL) translations and locale.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed: Issue affecting the date picker, when the font is large, the text is pushing down the 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons to where they are no longer visible.
