What is This Section?
The Zone Groups screen is where you can group zones for specific timeframes. This allows you to easily manage and dispatch drivers across multiple zones with similar characteristics or geographical proximity.
How Does It Work?
You create a 'Zone Group' to form a collective of zones, which functions and behaves as one zone with a unified driver queue.
By creating groups, for example, 'City Centre North', 'City Centre East', 'City Centre South', and 'City Centre West' the system searches for available drivers in all these zones when a booking is made in any of the grouped zones, which can lead to quicker response times.
To access this screen:
- Click on Zone Groups from the Dispatch > Zones dropdown menu.
Live Mode & Draft Mode
There are two different modes you can switch to and from.
In Live mode, you can view the live configuration of your zone groups. Any changes you make while in this mode are automatically published to your live system.
In Draft mode, you can view and edit your zone group configuration as a draft, and then apply this draft to live.
Once in Draft mode, you can create a new draft of your current configuration.
Note: When you create a new draft, the current draft will be overridden and any changes made will apply to all zone areas. (e.g. Zone Maker, Zone List...)
Once you are happy with your current draft, you can select the Apply Draft to Live button, replacing your live zone groups configuration with the latest draft configuration.
Creating a Zone Group
To add a new zone group:
- Click on the Add button on the right-hand side.

Configure the zone groups settings:
- Enable: Toggle to enable or disable the zone group. You can disable your zone groups at any point by toggling this setting off, allowing you to remove the configuration from your live system without deleting the group. You must toggle on this setting to enable for this zone group to be active on your system.
- Name: Enter a unique name for the group.
- Zones: Select which zones to group together. Going forward, during the schedule configured, the zones in this group will only have one driver queue.

Schedule: Configure the schedule for when this group will be active.
- Every Day: The group is active every day at the time schedule set.
- Weekly: Set the zone group to be active weekly at the time schedule set, use the During setting to set which days of the week to apply.
- Monthly: Here you can set whether the zone group is active on a particular day of the month (e.g. every 3rd of the month) or day in the month (e.g. active on the third Tuesday of every month). The time schedule will also determine when your zone group is active every month.

Yearly: Set your zone group schedule to yearly, allowing you to choose the options of From, On and During.
- From: Select a date range (DD/MM/YYYY) of where your zone group will be active.
- On: Select a specific day in a month when the group is active (e.g. on the fourth Friday in July).
- During: Select a month or multiple where your zone group is active during the year.
- Once: Select a date range where the zones group will apply, and then never reoccur upon reaching the end date.
- Time Schedule: Configure the exact time and day for when this group will be active. Select Midnight to Midnight for your group to be active all day. Use the Daily Time Range option to select a specific time between when the group will be active.
- Then click Create.
In the example above, the zones TWN, ANC, and UNI will be grouped weekly on Friday and Saturday all day.
Editing a Zone Group
You can edit any zone group you have created by double-clicking on a zone group within the table. This opens the editing modal where you can modify any settings of your group. Ensure to select Save once done to apply your changes.
Deleting a Zone Group
To delete any zone group:
- Double-click on the zone group within the table.
- Select the Delete button.
- Proceed through with the deletion by selecting I'm Sure.
Note: You cannot undo this action after deleting your zone.
