Vehicle Communications - Ghost

The Vehicle Communications screen is where you can configure Driver Companion’s communication settings.

To access this screen:

1. Click on the Vehicle Communications button from Management > Settings > Configuration.
   
   

The following settings can be configured:

Vehicle Communications

• Start Mode: Select the driver to start mode.
  • Driver: This allows drivers to start themselves on the system for work.
  • Manual: This allows only operators to start drivers for work.
• Start Mode Input: Select the start mode input.
  • None: No input is required for drivers to start working.
  • PIN: The driver must enter their unique PIN to start working.
  • PIN with Mileage: The driver must enter their unique PIN and mileage to start working.
  • Vehicle or PIN: The driver must enter their Vehicle Registration or unique PIN to start working.
  • Vehicle or PIN with Mileage: The driver must enter their Vehicle Registration or unique PIN with Mileage to start working.
• Finish Mode: Select the driver to finish mode.
  • Driver: This allows drivers to finish themselves on the system for work.
  • Manual: This allows only operators to finish drivers for work.
• Finish Mode Input: Select the finish mode input.
  • Mileage: The driver must enter their mileage to start working.
• Validate Vehicle Mileage: If enabled, the system will validate the entered mileage and the recorded mileage. If they don’t match the driver will need to re-enter the correct mileage.
• Automatic Finish Mode:
  • Driver Suspended: If a driver is suspended they will be automatically logged off. 
  • Driver Expired: If a driver’s finish date has expired they will be automatically logged off. 
  • Vehicle Expired: If a vehicle’s document dates have expired it will be automatically logged off. 
  • Vehicle Suspended: If a vehicle is suspended it will be automatically logged off. 
• Force Shout Fare Mode: Drivers will be unable to ‘clear’ without shouting the fare for jobs with the set type.
  • Never: Fare shout not required.
  • Account Jobs Only: Fare shout required for account jobs.
  • Cash Jobs Only: Fare shout required for cash jobs.
  • All Jobs: Fare shout required for all jobs.
• Variable Tariffs Override Shout Mode: Set to allow variable tariffs to override the fare sent by drivers.
• Hide Destination: Select if the booking destination should be hidden.
  • Off: The destination will be shown.
  • Until picked up: The destination will be shown when the custom has been picked up.
  • Always: The destination will always be shown.
• Send Favourite Destinations: Select if a customer’s favourite destinations should be shown for ‘as directed’ bookings.
  • Off: Favourite destination will not be shown
  • Optional: A driver can select a favourite destination or not.
  • Mandatory: A driver must select a favourite destination.
• Broadcast Columns:
  • Vehicles: Enable to allow drivers to see how many vehicles are in each zone.
  • Bookings: Enable to allow drivers to see ‘upcoming’ bookings.
  • Advanced Booking 1 (mins): Enable to allow drivers to see advanced bookings in Driver Companion’s job sorting.
  • Advanced Bookings 2 (mins): Enable to allow drivers to see advanced bookings in Driver Companion’s job sorting.
• Advanced Booking 1 (mins): Set a custom time in minutes for advanced bookings to be shown in Driver Companion’s job sorting.
• Advanced Bookings 2 (mins): Set a second custom time in minutes for advanced bookings to be shown in Driver Companion’s job sorting.
• Broadcast Excludes Held Jobs: Enable to hide ‘Held’ jobs in Driver Companion.
• Replace (As Directed): Set to replace the ‘as directed’ destinations with the nearest street or zone.
• Send Fare When Replacing Destination: Enable to send drivers an updated fare when replacing the destination with ‘as directed’.
• Nearest Street Distance Threshold: Limit how far the system will search for the nearest street.
• Account Balance Enquiry Mode: Set if a driver should receive his Current or Previous Balance when requested via Driver Companion.
• Driver Sheet Balance: Set if the Driver Sheet Balance should show the Current or Previous Balance via Driver Companion.
• Clear Out Of Range Tolerance (m): If a driver is outside of the set radius they will not be able to ‘clear’ from a job.
• Allow Clear In Same Zone: If enabled, drivers can ‘clear’ anywhere within the destination zone, regardless of the tolerances. 
• No Job Out Of Range Tolerance (m): If a driver is outside of the set radius they will not be able to use the ‘no job’ command.
• Picked Up Out Of Range Tolerance (m): If a driver is outside of the set radius they will not be able to use the ‘picked up’ command.
• MDT Respects Pickup Tolerance: If enabled, drivers outside of the pickup tolerance will not be able to start their meter. 
• Via Out Of Range Tolerance (m): If a driver is outside of the set radius they will not be able to use the ‘picked up’ command at the Via stage.
• Ringback Out Of Range Tolerance (m): If a driver is outside of the set radius they will not be able to use the ‘ringback’ command.
• MDT Respects Ringback Tolerance: If enabled, drivers outside of the ringback tolerance will not be able to use the ‘ringback‘ button. 
• Switch Meter On Reminder Tolerance: Set in minutes how long drivers have to turn on their meter.
• Call Customer Only Usable From MDT: If enabled, drivers can only call customers from the mobile data terminal (MDT) device. 
• Send Preallocated Job Notifications: Enable to show driver notifications for pre-allocated jobs.
• Send Queue Positions: Enable to show drivers their current zone queue position.

Cash Bookings

• Automatic price/cost recalculation for cash on shout: Cash bookings will be recalculated automatically when in shout mode.
• Waiting Time Minutes Free: Set how much waiting time a cash using customer can have for free.

Emergency

• Send Emergency To Nearby Vehicles: If enabled, an emergency indicator will be sent to all drivers when the Emergency button.
• Begin Sending Emergency to Nearby Vehicles Immediately: If enabled, an emergency will be immediately sent when the Emergency button is pressed.
• Number of Vehicles to Receive Emergency: Set how many vehicles should receive the emergency sent by another driver.
• Emergency Phone Number: Set the company's emergency phone number. 
• Auto Dial Emergency Number: If enabled, the emergency number will be automatically dialled when the Emergency button is pressed.

Meter

• Send Fixed Price To Autocab Internal Meters: Enable to send fixed prices to the internal meter.
• Send System Tariff To Autocab Internal Meters: Enable to send system tariffs to the internal meter. 
• Ghost pricing meter capabilities for street pickup: This allows you to select custom Ghost pricing capabilities for street pickup.

Bookings

• Optional Booking Fields: Select which fields should be shown on the booking details.
• Booking Offer Fields: Select which fields should be shown on the job offer.
• Send Price For Account Booking (Fixed Price): Set which monetary price value drivers will be sent for fixed-price account bookings.
• Send Price For Account Booking (Variable Price): Set which monetary price value drivers will be sent for variable price account bookings.
• Send Price For Cash Booking (Fixed Price): Set which monetary price value drivers will be sent for fixed-price cash bookings.
• Send Price For Cash Booking (Variable Price): Set which monetary price value drivers will be sent for variable price cash bookings.
• Always Include Cost In Driver Companion History: Enable to always include the booking ‘cost’ in Driver Companion’s history. 
• Booking Offer Timeout (secs): Set how long a driver has to accept or reject a job offer.
• Booking Offer Indicates App Booking: Enable to show a different indicator on the Job Offer for each booking type.
