Note: Currently Driver Companion+ is in a beta phase with ongoing updates and bug fixes, and the features available to you will depend on the configuration and the current version of the Driver Companion+ you're using.

Improvements

Full Capabilities Names

For improved clarity, job offers (including ASAP jobs and prebookings) now display the full name of the capability assigned to the job. Drivers can use this information to make a more informed decision about whether to accept the job. Additionally, the capability icon has been updated to reduce confusion with the capability type.

Final Fare UI Update

Updated the final fare screen to make the Total Price clearer. The Total Price includes all applicable charges, such as extras and gratuities, helping to reduce confusion for passengers.

Disable Filter By Destination for Hidden Prebookings

Drivers can no longer filter prebookings by destination when the destination has been hidden.

Capability Filters Respect 365 Management Settings

Capability work filters now respect the corresponding settings in 365 Management (Capability Filters under Global Settings > Interface). As a result, drivers can only set their own capability colours, or view capability colours, if these options have been enabled by their operator.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed: Issue where the inbox does not show message history after multiple users have accessed the same device.
  2. Fixed: Issue where the Announcements URL in 365M > Driver/Vehicles > DC > Global > Interface is not loading in DC+.
  3. Fixed: Issue where some drivers are unable to log in due to a constant 'Connection failed' error.
  4. Fixed: Issue where there is a duplicate percentage symbol (%) in the Missed Jobs and Earnings reports.
  5. Fixed: Issue where the slider/button on the Adjust Fare screen displays 'Complete' instead of 'Confirm'.
  6. Fixed: Issue where some fixed price jobs incorrectly show the minimum  fare on the meter at the start and end of a job.
  7. Fixed: Issue when using the 'Plot in Zone' feature, the pop up message incorrectly states it has been successful when the driver is out of range.
  8. Fixed: Issue where the "You qualify for follow on bookings" banner does not override the "Counts toward challenges".
  9. Fixed: Issue where there is a duplicate percentage symbol (%) in the Challenges progress section of Rewards.
  10. Fixed: Issue where challenge progress on bid cards is showing as '0/0 completed'.
  11. Fixed: Issue where the driver note disappears after putting the app in background during the 'Pick up' stage.
  12. Fixed: Issue where the earnings report data is being shared between drivers who use the same vehicle.
  13. Fixed: Issue where the "Arrive" text does not show correctly on the 'Swipe to arrive'.

What's New

Incentives

Incentives have been added to Driver Companion+! You can now earn rewards for accepting difficult jobs and going above and beyond.

By completing challenges, you can receive different perks such as cash bonuses, which will be added to your earnings, the ability to jump to the front of the job queue, and the removal of penalties.

Text to Speech

Added Text to Speech (TTS) to Driver Companion+, which reads the written text on the screen out loud. Text to speech can be used in the following sections of the app:
  1. Job Offers
  2. Follow On Bookings
  3. New Bid Available
On these screens, the TTS system reads out the details of the job. To enable TTS, open Settings and tap to toggle on/off.

Phone Office

Added the 'Phone Office' option to the actions menu, allowing drivers to call their operator's office from the app.

Set App Text Size

Drivers can now set the app's text size by going to Settings > Interface and adjust the text size via the slider.

Approximate Location for ASAP Bids & Prebookings

You can now set the approximate location for ASAP Bids and Prebookings, which shows the map location as a general radius. Previously, you could only set this for the job offer.

Separate Booking Offer Fields

Added new booking offer fields in Management for assigned prebookings, allowing you to configure the information that is shown on an assigned prebooking compared to one that a driver is yet to bid on.

Urgent Messages UI

Updated the look of urgent messages within the driver messages inbox for better clarity.

Improvements

Set App Language

Users can now set the language of the app within the Android Driver Companion+ app settings. Here you can select to use the default operating system language or a different one.

Sign In Text

Updated references to email on the login page to state 'username', indicating to drivers that they can use their phone number or email address to sign up.

Earnings Report: Total Cost

New field in Earnings Report shows the total cost.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed: Issue where the emergency button icon disappears after pressing the street pickup icon and returning back to the main screen.
  2. Fixed: Issue where trying to skip the 'biometric' screen does not work correctly, and can result in a failure to authenticate error.
  3. Fixed: Issue when a surcharge is set to 'Apply Surcharge At Time Of Booking', it is also applying incorrectly on completion.
  4. Fixed: Issue where the keypad on the release code page covers the "Enter release code" field, covering whatever input is entered.
  5. Fixed: Issue where the charge for a via is being added again at the end of the job, despite it being added at the time of booking.
  6. Fixed: Issue affecting the earnings report where viewing the daily breakdown and tapping any bar but the first, results in the unselected bars not changing colour to indicate 'unselected' and the table only shows details for the first bar.
  7. Fixed: Issue where bids do not appear when on the heat map when the 'Show jobs to bid' filter is enabled.
  8. Fixed: Issue where the meter is not shouting back a zero fare on a zero price fixed job, causing incorrect cost/price calculations at the end of job.
  9. Fixed: Issue where jobs are automatically rejecting before the driver has chance to see the job offer.
  10. Fixed: Issue where the driver messages inbox only displays urgent messages.
  11. Fixed: Issue where there is a consistent connection failed error on first login, which disappears after trying again.
  12. Fixed: Issue if 'Separate House Number' is enabled in Booking Offers, the house number does not appear on the job offer.
  13. Fixed: Issue when changing the destination on a job, the route on the map is not updating to reflect the new destination.
  14. Fixed: Issue where an area charge that is already included in the fare is being added again upon completion.
  15. Fixed: Issue affecting prebookings, where filtering by a zone that currently has no jobs available still shows the current selection of jobs.
  16. Fixed: Issue affecting iOS only, where minimising the app while active on a job does not show the floating meter.

What's New

View ASAP and Prebookings Offline

Drivers can now view ASAP jobs and prebookings while offline. If a driver has more than one vehicle assigned to their account, they need to select the vehicle they want to see jobs for when signing in.
NotesNote: Requires Ghost V37 (currently in BETA) to use.

Taking Payment Mid Journey

Drivers can now take payment mid journey, for example, on a multi-drop off journey each passenger can pay their portion as they depart the vehicle.
To take an early payment:
  1. When active on a job, open the Actions menu.
  2. Tap 'Request payment early'.
  3. Select how much to collect now.
  4. Take payment.
At the end of a job, only the remaining balance will be left to collect.

To enable this for your fleet (instructions for operators):
  1. In Management, go to Drivers/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Global Settings > Interface.
  2. Toggle on 'Mid-Trip Payments'.
  3. Press Save to apply your changes.

    Note: You can also enable on functionality groups by editing a functionality group, opening the 'Features' tab and toggling on 'Mid-Trip Payments'.

Time to Destination on Map View

Time indicator shows the estimated number of minutes to the next stage of the journey (via, pickup, drop off) on the map.

Jordanian Locale

Added support for the Jordanian locale (ar-JO) in the app.

Release Notes Access in App

Added link to the latest release notes. To open the release notes in app, go to the left-hand menu and tap 'What's New'.

Improvements

Top Navigation Bar

Updated the navigation bar to change the text (Zones, Map, Bid) to icons to prevent text cutting off when re-sizing the font.

Busy Map Improvements

Added several UI and performance improvements to the busy map (heat map), including:
  1. Panning and zooming is smoother and more responsive across the map.
  2. Colours on the heatmap use the correct palette for light and dark mode.
  3. Standardising heatmap elements such as tile size, zooming thresholds, and radius across iOS and Android.

Bid Card Sensitivity

Adjusted the sensitivity within the bidding section so drivers can easily browse the bookings and avoid accidentally swiping to bid or skip on jobs.

Dark Mode Colours for Flight Stats

Amended the dark mode colours on flight stats for better readability.

Urgent Notification Sound

Amended the urgent notification sound to stop playing after 10 seconds.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed: Issue where prebookings only show for the current day if using the older Ghost prebookings API.
  2. Fixed: Issue where some extras are being double charged on jobs.
  3. Fixed: Issue when scrolling prebookings the bottom sheet does not automatically collapse.
  4. Fixed: Issue where the app is not respecting the ASAP job notification settings.
  5. Fixed: Issue where the driver's rating is not showing on the driver profile page.
  6. Fixed: Issue where jobs are clearing when on the adjust fare screen.
  7. Fixed: Issue where multi pickup jobs are not showing the 'Arrive at destination' stage.
  8. Fixed: Issue where 'No fare' appears on the bottom sheet when no fares have been disabled.
  9. Fixed: Issue where street pickup jobs are going to the payment required stage.
  10. Fixed: Issue where the floating meter shows a different price to the in app meter.
  11. Fixed: Issue where a no fare cannot be initiated on the second pickup on multi-pick up job.
  12. Fixed: Issue affecting the bidding section. If the last page viewed is 'ASAP Jobs' or 'Prebookings', and an operator disables to the other section in 365, this causes the "Nothing to see here" screen to incorrectly appear when opening the bidding section, as the user still has access to the other section.

What's New

Show Jobs to Bid on the Busy Map

Drivers can now see the location of ASAP bid jobs on the Busy Map.



When tapping a bid button, the detailed view for that job opens, where a driver can then bid on or skip that job.
If multiple jobs are in the same place, upon tapping the circle containing the number of jobs value, the map automatically zooms in and all the jobs are shown.

Show Passenger Location on the Map

If available, the passenger's location is displayed on the app, allowing drivers to accurately track and locate their passenger. Driver's can also press the 'Locate passenger' button under the passenger's name once they have arrived at the pickup.
NotesNote: Only bookings via the Passenger App are able to show passenger location.

Location for Prebookings

Moved the Prebookings screen to the bidding section of the app, so it is more easily accessible by drivers.


Automatic Refresh for Prebookings

The prebookings page now automatically refreshes every 5 minutes so drivers can see their latest prebookings.

Button Layout for Prebookings

We have updated the layout of the buttons on the prebookings page, ensuring that the floating street pickup and emergency buttons do not overlap existing buttons.

Super Job Indication

If a job is a super job (a high value job), this is now indicated on the job offer and within the job flow.

Filtering on the Busy Map

Drivers can control what they see on the heat map, including:
  1. Bids: Turn on/off available bid jobs on the map.
  2. Surges: Turn on/off surge indicators on the map.

Hide Contact Options Screen

On an active job, the 'Contact Options' screen is now hidden if there is only one contact option available as it is only required when there are multiple to choose from. Instead, the driver is taken to the Inbox (Messages) screen.

Support for 'Card Reader Support Gratuity' Setting

The app now listens to the 'Card Reader Support Gratuity' setting, which is enabled/disabled in Management > Driver/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Settings Groups > Add On Groups > External Devices. When enabled, gratuity can only be added via the card reader.

Loyalty Card Swipe

Added support so that Driver Companion+ can accept swipes for loyalty cards, automatically applying the card number.

Limit Bookings in Status Bar

When a driver has set their ability to 'Un-Limit Work' from the Actions Menu, an indicator now appears in the status bar stating so.

Disassociate Bluetooth Device

New option under Bluetooth devices that allow users to tap 'Forget Device' for connected devices which removes the connection and stops automatic future pairing.

SAR Currency

Added support for the Saudi Riyal (SAR) currency.

Internal Meter: Tax Rate

Tax rate is now automatically sent from the system to the internal meter, enabling the correct tax to be applied to fares.

Split Payments

Added a 'Complete' button to allow drivers to clear the job after all payments have been taken through the split payment.

Optional Destination Button Change

When a job is 'As directed' and adding a destination is optional, a pen icon is shown instead of the normal 'Add destination' button, which still appears when the destination is required.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed: Issue where the app gets stuck when a driver taps to accept a job offer.
  2. Fixed: Issue affecting the Android app only, where the app is not asking for the 'Display over other apps' or the 'Battery optimisation' permissions on startup.
  3. Fixed: Issue affecting 'As directed' bookings where the fare is not clocking up alongside the mileage.
  4. Fixed: Issue on the sign-in page where the Driver Companion+ title is cut off at the bottom.
  5. Fixed: Issue where the app is occasionally crashing when opening the earnings report or accessing the zones screen.
  6. Fixed: Several issues affecting dark mode, including:
    1. Issue where there is a missing tick icon from the red circle on the connection failed screen.
    2. Issue where the volume slider is missing a highlight before the circle to indicate volume level.
    3. Issue where the floating street pickup icon is purple instead of white.
    4. Issue where the 'Get Jobs' button is an incorrect for the button and text.
    5. Issue where the background colour for the floating emergency button is not correct.
    6. Issue affecting the 'X' (Reject) button on follow on bookings where the 'X' is a dark colour and the timer around the button is not red.
    7. Issue where the buttons on the Profile > Documents > Other screen are purple instead of white.
    8. Issue where the 'Locate' button on the map incorrectly remains purple when not in use.
    9. Issue where the waiting time start and pause buttons are an incorrect shade of purple.
    10. Issue when using the 'Plot in location' action, the message that pop-ups afterwards appears in white when it should be blue.
  7. Fixed: Issue where the 'Call Office' button is not dialling the driver services number (set in Management) when pressed.
  8. Fixed: Issue where the right menu font size does not adjust accordingly when the device's font/display size is increased.
  9. Fixed: Issue when the device font size is increased, text across the app is cut off, truncated, or not fully visible.
  10. Fixed: Issue where after receiving a successful payment via Pay By Link, the job is not clearing.
  11. Fixed: Issue when changing a colour in 'Work Filters', the new colour is not immediately applying and requires a fresh login.
  12. Fixed: Issue where the app is showing job times in GMT even when the user is in a different time zone.
  13. Fixed: Issue where the 'No fare' command is not showing.
  14. Fixed: Issue where the app crashes when selecting the 'View daily breakdown' option in the Missed Jobs report.
  15. Fixed: Issue where the passenger's name appears twice on the job flow.

What's New

Emergency Feature

Implemented the emergency button to notify the operator and/or other drivers in the fleet if an incident has occurred.


To enable the emergency button for your fleet (instructions for operators):
  1. In 365 Management, go to Drivers/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Settings Groups > Functionality Group > Interface.
  2. Under Top Bar Shortcuts, there are three options for the 'Emergency' setting:
    1. Off: Disables the emergency button.
    2. Menu: Shows the emergency button in the actions menu.
    3. Icon: Shows the emergency button as a floating button (when not actively on a job) and within the actions menu.
  3. To configure the behaviour of the emergency button, go to Driver Companion > Global Settings > Contact. In this section, you can configure the following settings:
    1. Auto Dial Emergency Number: Toggle on to automatically dial the emergency number entered in the 'Emergency' input field below.
    2. Send Emergency Immediately: Enable to trigger an urgent operator message.
    3. Send Emergency to all Vehicles: Enable to trigger an urgent message to all drivers in the company, as well as an operator message.

Restart from Settings

Added the option to restart the application from the Settings page, allowing drivers to update their configuration if there's a change on the system side without having to log in and out again.

Change State from Actions Menu

Drivers can now change their status while busy on a job to ensure they do not receive any further job offers at the end. Using the actions menu, drivers can select a short or long break, and go offline. At the end of the job, the driver automatically changes to the chosen state.

Street Pickup: Floating Button

Added the option to make the street pickup button a floating button on the home screen for quicker access.


To enable the floating street pickup button (instructions for operators):

  1. In 365 Management, go to Drivers/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Settings Groups > Functionality Groups > Interface.
  2. Set the Street Pickup option to 'Icon'.
  3. Press save to apply your changes.

Meter Reminder

A new setting enables a reminder to be sent to drivers to switch on their meter once they've picked up a passenger.

To enable the switch meter reminder (instructions for operators):

  1. In 365 Management, go to Drivers/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Settings Groups > Functionality Groups > Pricing.
  2. Toggle on the 'Switch Meter on Reminder' setting.
  3. To configure tolerance, go to Driver Companion > Global Settings > Pricing.
  4. Input a value (in metres) for the 'Switch Meter on Reminder Tolerance (m)' setting.
  5. Ensure to save to apply your changes.

Bluetooth PIA Integrations

Connections to a Bluetooth PIA integrations for meter on/off, panic button, and roof light on/off can now be added to Driver Companion+.

To configure your 365 system to integrate (instructions for operators):
  1. In 365 Management, go to Drivers/Vehicles > Driver Companion > Settings Groups > Add-Ons Groups > External Devices.
  2. Under Bluetooth PIA, toggle on 'Autocab' or 'Centrodyne', depending on what meter you are using.
  3. You can then configure the following settings:
    1. Panic button
    2. Roof light polarity

Improvements

Final Fare Screen

Updated the final fare screen, including:
  1. Changed the 'Running total' to 'Chargeable amount' which consists of fare plus any extras or gratuity, minus any promo or loyalty discount.
  2. Changed the promo/loyalty to a line at the top of the fare screen to make it clear what is being discounted.
  3. Moved the edit/add promo option back to the edit fare page.

Faster Login

Improved the login flow so the login process is quicker.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed: Issue where the fare screen is showing before the final fare on Ghost Pricing meter jobs.
  2. Fixed: Issue where the ASAP bid list is not showing to drivers.
  3. Fixed: Issue where the urgent message "beeping" alert continuously plays, even when a message is not showing.
  4. Fixed: Issue where some drivers are not getting offered follow on bookings when eligible.
  5. Fixed: Issue where drivers could access the bid option from the Zones view when active on a job and bid while busy is disabled.
  6. Fixed: Issue where the "1 minute left" notification for Destination Mode does not show correctly on the bottom bar on the home screen.
  7. Fixed: Issue where loyalty is not applying correctly on some jobs.
  8. Fixed: Issue where the meter still runs after the job is cleared.
