Zone Analysis (BETA) - 365 Analytics

What Is This Section?

In this section, you can analyse the data of your zones in greater detail, seeing when they are the busiest and observing if trends stay the same or have improved over time.
Alert
Note: This section is currently in active beta. You may encounter bugs and issues, and features may be subject to change.

Getting Started

On the 365 Portal, select the Analytics tile. Navigate to Bookings > Bookings by Zone. Two new tabs will then appear. Select Zone Analysis (BETA).

How It Works

Your data is automatically imported and updated in Analytics, where you can explore it using built-in filters for a more targeted view. You also have the option to export your visualised data in Excel format, enabling deeper analysis and easier sharing with others.

Filter Button (- Click the Filter icon to open it. After adjusting the filter, click anywhere on the page to close the window.

You can filter your data by:

  • Company - Choose a company to filter your data (applicable in a multi-company system).
  • Zones to display- Select which zones and their associated data appear in the visuals.
  • Metrics to display - Select an option to filter the tables to show the following data across all your zones.

Focus Mode (- Hover over the different graphics and use this button to enlarge the report visual to see more detail.

You cannot filter your data whilst in focus mode; your existing filter will remain until changed. Your current filters remain active while you are in focus mode. To change your filters, click 'Back to report,' make your adjustments, and then return to focus mode.

Understanding the Data

The Zone Analysis view presents zone performance visually, using charts to make trends and patterns easier to identify at a glance. This section focuses on single metrics at a time, allowing for clearer comparisons across zones and time periods.

Using the filter, you can select a single metric to analyse. All charts on the page update to reflect the selected metric. You can also control which zones are included in the analysis. By default all zones are selected. You can add or remove zones at any time using the filter. The data shown represented combined totals of all selected zones.

Are your zones improving over time?

The bar chart on the left highlights how the selected metric has changed month by month over time.

Each bar represents the total number of bookings for the selected metric in that month, aggregated across your zones. Two vertical reference lines indicate the current six-month average and the previous year's six-month average, helping you compare recent performance to longer-term trends.

Adjacent to each bar is the Month-on-month (MoM) change, comparing the value to the previous month and the Year-on-year (YoY) change, comparing the value to the same calendar month in the previous year. These comparisons show both the numerical difference and percentage change.

When are your zones busiest?

The heatmap on the right shows when bookings occur, broken down by day of week and hour of day. Each cell shows the number of bookings for the selected metric during that hour and day. Darker shading represents higher booking volumes. Lighter shading represents lower activity.

You can interact with the heatmap to isolate periods and identify how your demand is distributed across the week.

Clicking a specific value in the heatmap highlights the corresponding day of the week and hour of the day. The bar charts update to show how that value contributes to the overall totals for both the selected day and time period.

Clicking an hour highlights the entire row for that hour across all days. The bar charts then reflect how bookings during that hour contribute to the overall totals for each day of the week. You can use this data to identify consistently busy or quiet hours and how they vary across different days.

Clicking a day highlights the entire column for that day in the heatmap. The bar charts highlight how bookings on that day are distributed across the hours of the day, helping you see when demand is concentrated within that specific day.

The highlighted areas make it easier to see how specific days or hours contribute to overall demand, allowing you to quickly identify peak periods and patterns of activity.

Exporting Data

To export your data:

  1. Hover over a visual to export.
  2. Click the Three Dots ( ... ) icon in the top-right corner.

NotesNote: Depending on the visual you are exporting will determine whether you can choose the type of format it is exported in.

Tables can be exported as 'Data with current layout' and 'Summarised data'.

Visualised data such as graphs can only be exported as 'Summarised data'.

If exporting as 'Summarised data', you can use the File Format dropdown to select whether to export as .xlsx or csv.
  3. Press the Export button.
  4. Your file will then begin downloading. Once downloaded, you can open your file from your file explorer.
